We boarded the Majesty of the Seas this morning and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have an outdated look like I was expecting. We went straight to the Windjammer (where else would I go) and had lunch. The Windjammer is set up with the different food stations like the other ships. I was expecting long buffet lines without the different stations.
The atrium is really lovely. Our cabin is small but then again, how much time do I spend in the cabin. I am disappointed that there is no solarium on the ship so I will just have to find a cool spot in the shade to rest my weary bones. They did something I have never encountered on any ship. For the life boat drill you do not bring your life jackets; you go as you are. That was wonderful except that when you get to your boat station there are lines (it wasn't too bad) as they ask everyone for their cabin number. But it is great that you don't have to schlep (that's for you Char) the life jacket all around the ship. We met our room steward and she has a great personality and I think she will very good.
Our waiter in the dining room is Terrence from India. He is fantastic. In all my cruises I have not had anyone like him. He brought extra everything and was even feeding us. I want to take him home with me. Tonight for dinner I had the garlic tiger shrimp but I had a problem with the appetizers as there were 3 that I liked. I had the mozzarella and tomato and scallop risotto. That should be the worst problem I'll ever have. We had a mother and daughter at our table from Houston and they are both very nice and friendly. We even went to the show with them.
Tonight there was only 1 show for both seatings. It was the comedy of Miguel Washington and he was very very funny. After the show I went to the casino to make my donation. Oh well, what else is new. The cruise director is Drew Devine and I can't make a decision yet on how good he is. Beth found out thereare 711 kids onboard for this cruise; you know I'm not a happy camper, but so far, so good.
